We are based in the Peter-Weiss-Haus, Doberaner Straße 21, Rostock. Our regular office hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and anyone is welcome to stop by.

The „Offene Raum“ (free open-room) is open from Monday to Thursday from 2-7 p.m. to children and youth.

Offers for children and youth:

  • the „Offene Raum“ (free open-room)
  • regular programs for different age groups and interests
  • various vacation programs (during school holidays)
  • programs for groups which can be booked
  • consultations
  • internship opportunities

The team

Stephan Kurth (Offene Räume – free open-rooms), Thomas Krieger (Offene Räume/ Mobile Jugendarbeit – free open-rooms/ mobile youth work) and Claudia Lübcke (Offene Räume/ Mobile Jugendarbeit – free open-rooms/ mobile youth work) are the core of the social education team of the „Offene Kinder- und Jugendarbeit (OKJA)“.

The team of school social workers is synergistically associated with this core team. Together they work at the following schools in the social area of KTV/Stadtmitte: Ira Leithoff (Innerstädtisches Gymnasium), Doreen Winter (Grundschule am Alten Markt), Marie Widuckel (Borwinschule – Gesamtschule Mitte mit gymnasialer Oberstufe), Susanne Binsch (St.-Georg-Grundschule) and Christina Tasler (Grundschule am Margaretenplatz).

Since August 2016, another priority of our efforts is mobile and visiting work, performed by Wolfgang Schimmelpfennig, Johanna Schäfer and Martin Manzei in a project entitled „RYS – Reclaim Your Streets // Streetwork Rostock“
